Unlike many traditional recovery resources that focus solely on symptom management, the Circle gives you the chance to explore the deeper layers of recovery and address the underlying causes of eating disorders. Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that true healing goes beyond physical recovery â it involves emotional, mental, and social transformation.
Eating Disorder Recovery Is Hard â You Donât Have to Do It Alone
Join the Eating Disorder Recovery Circle
Your safe, private space for support, healing, and full recovery â with guidance from people who truly understand.
Meet Julia Trehane
Founder of the Eating Disorder Recovery Circle & Host of Fly to Freedom podcast
Iâm Julia â a fully recovered anorexia survivor, successful eating disorder recovery coach, and the creator of this community.
Iâve poured my years of coaching experience â helping people find freedom from eating disorders â together with decades of lived experience and full recovery from anorexia, orthorexia, and exercise addiction, alongside my network of other fantastic coaches and therapists into creating the Circle.
This is the community I wish Iâd had when I was recovering: real support, practical tools, and people who truly understand. I also host the Fly to Freedom podcast to give even more people hope, insight, and a sense that theyâre not alone.
I still offer one-to-one coaching for a very limited number of clients, through https://juliatrehane.com/ but this community is how I reach and support more people â without the high financial cost of working with me 1:1.
You donât have to do this alone. Full recovery is possible â and itâs what you deserve.

đ Tired of Feeling Alone in Recovery?
Maybe youâve never had treatment, or maybe you have â but either way, recovery still feels like something youâre expected to figure out alone.
Youâre navigating food, fear, and emotions that most people around you just donât understand.
Whether youâre just beginning, in therapy, or trying to stay on track â itâs easy to feel stuck, isolated, or unsure what to do next.
The truth is, you donât have to do this by yourself anymore.
đ Thatâs Why the Circle Exists
The Eating Disorder Recovery Circle is a private, supportive community built by people who get it. Everyone inside has lived through eating disorders, including all of our team.
No judgement. No comparison. Just recovery support you can actually count on â any time, day or night.
Whether youâre just starting or youâve tried recovery before, youâll find practical tools, ongoing encouragement, and the power of connection here.

The Circle has been hugely beneficial in my recovery progress. The Feelings Navigator in particular is really helpful when feeling anything from anxiety to overwhelm to sadness and loneliness (all of which I've experienced during this journey) and provides useful mantras and practical tips to get through these hard moments. The message boards and chat pages make you feel less alone and it's really comforting to be able to share worries and share your own tips in a safe and welcoming space. I can't wait to do one of the courses especially the ones on self love and fear of weight gain. I am really grateful to be part of this community.

The Fear of Weight Gain course changed everything for me. Iâve always known that gaining weight was part of recovery, but the fear was paralysing. I'm 1/2 way through and this course is helping me understand why I was so scared and gave me practical ways to challenge the beliefs keeping me stuck. Juliaâs videos make me feel like she's talking directly to me, just like her podcast. For the first time, I feel like full recovery is actually possible â and Iâm not terrified of what my body needs anymore

One of the things I love most about the Circle is how people further along in recovery take the time to support others in the chatrooms. Itâs so encouraging to see thoughtful, compassionate replies to peopleâs worries â real advice from those whoâve been through it and truly understand. It creates such a hopeful, supportive space where no one feels alone.

Having an eating disorder is a very lonely and isolating place to be. This community has given me so much support, love and compassion that I truly feel seen and heard. I feel less alone knowing that there are others who struggle just as I am. To have someone there when I reach out is amazing. To feel so supported is everything. The feelings navigator has been extremely helpful to me. Just to help me understand my feelings. The courses and workshops have been so valuable and have really helped me see things I hadnât before. Thankyou Julia for this amazing community Iâm so glad I am part of it.

What Makes the Circle Unique?
You have the opportunity to reconnect with your inner child, recognising and healing the formative experiences that may have shaped your relationship with food, body image, and self-worth. This includes guided exercises and journaling prompts to help you explore past emotions, uncover limiting beliefs, and rewrite your personal narrative with compassion and self-acceptance.
A crucial part of this journey involves letting go of your inner critic â the voice that perpetuates self-doubt, judgement, and feelings of inadequacy. The Circle equips you with strategies to quiet this voice and replace it with one of self-compassion and self-love. Through guided meditations, affirmations, and reflective exercises, youâll learn how to speak to yourself with kindness, embrace your imperfections, and celebrate your intrinsic worth. This shift creates a supportive inner dialogue, allowing you to build a healthier, more nurturing relationship with yourself.
The Circle encourages you to question the messages weâve all absorbed about weight, appearance, and self-worth. Instead of feeling trapped by these expectations, youâll have the chance to step back, look at them with fresh eyes, and decide what truly serves you. By exploring a different perspective, you can start letting go of the pressures of diet culture and build a more positive, freeing relationship with your body and health.
Resources include lessons on understanding and rejecting diet culture, exploring the principles of Health at Every Size (HAES), and cultivating a new, positive perspective on health and body image.
Beyond addressing these external and internal influences, the Circle offers a whole-person approach to recovery. Mindfulness practices, meditations, and tools for managing emotions and stress are available, supporting emotional resilience and self-regulation. These tools are complemented by a community of other members in our focused chat rooms, where you can share experiences, gain insights, and receive encouragement from those who truly understand your journey.
This comprehensive framework ensures you can move beyond symptom management towards rebuilding a fulfilling and balanced life, grounded in self-compassion, self-love, and genuine freedom from disordered behaviours.
ALLÂ of this is included in one super low membership fee.
Flexible and Accessible
You can access the Circle from anywhere, anytime. Whether youâre at home, on the go, or need support in the moment, the Circle is always there for you.
Led by Someone Who Understands
The Circle is founded by Julia Trehane, a professional recovery coach and ED Recovery podcaster, who overcame 40 years of eating disorders. Juliaâs lived experience and compassionate approach make the Circle a truly understanding and empowering resource.

Founderâs Story

I started restricting at just eight years old. For 40 years, I lived in the eating disorder and other forms of restrictionâtrapped in people-pleasing, perfectionism, anxiety, self-hatred, and a relentless feeling of never being good enough. I wasnât living. I was merely existing.
 Then I hit rock bottom.
Recovery was a turbulent journey, but in the process, I discovered something life-changing: I had never truly lived. And when I finally embraced freedom, it was incredibleâempowering, beautiful, and full of self-acceptance. For the first time, I felt truly alive.
That awakening ignited a deep passion in me. I knew I couldnât keep this to myselfâI wanted to help others break free too. So I became a Recovery Coach, guiding people on their own journeys. But I wanted to reach even more people, from all walks of life and at every stage of recovery.
Thatâs why I founded this circle.
This is a place where you donât have to go through recovery alone. A space where you are truly seen, understood, and supported as you step into the life you deserveâa life of freedom, self-love, and living instead of just existing.
You are welcome here. You belong here. And you are so worthy of this journey.
With love and freedom,
Julia
