Freedom doesn’t come from fighting harder. It comes from healing deeper
Because food freedom isn’t just about food. It’s about healing what’s underneath — the fears, beliefs and patterns that keep you stuck.
If you've been afraid to recover, you're not alone — and this time, you're not doing it by yourself
How Many Can You Tick?
If recovery feels harder than you ever imagined, you're not alone — and you're not failing. Many of the struggles you're facing aren't personal flaws; they're signs of deeper patterns that need healing. Take a moment to see how many of these feel true for you…
âś… You're terrified of gaining weight
âś… You put everyone else's happiness before your own
âś… You criticise your own thoughts
âś… You feel guilty after eating, no matter what it is
âś… You believe full recovery is possible for others, but not for you
âś… You think needing support means you're 'weak'
âś… You second-guess every food choice you make
âś… You feel like you have to 'earn' your food or rest
And it’s not just what’s happening inside your mind — fear of how others might see or judge you can make recovery feel even harder.
âś… You're scared of being seen if your body changes
âś… You compare your recovery progress to everyone else's
âś… You still secretly think 'losing a little weight' would make you happier
âś… You struggle to trust your own hunger signals
âś… You beat yourself up for 'not doing recovery perfectly'
âś… You believe that if you relax even a little, you'll lose control completely
âś… You find comfort in rules and routines, even when they hurt you
âś… You worry people will judge you if you eat 'too much'
âś… You wonder if you're 'sick enough' to deserve recovery
If you ticked even a few of these... you're not alone — and you're not broken. But you are stuck in ED patterns that are fully possible to break free from. That's exactly what we do inside the Circle.
Recovery isn’t just about eating more — it’s about healing what’s underneath
There are many fantastic coaches and therapists out there — and we’re proud to collaborate with them. The Circle offers extra support with the emotional layers of recovery: the parts that often need more space, time, and community to heal — like feeling safe enough to let go of rules, reconnect with your body, and believe you're worthy of full recovery.
✅ Rewire “I’m not sick enough” thinking
âś… Feel safe in a changing body
âś… Let go of food rules without losing control
âś… Stop the cycle of guilt and restriction

The Circle has been hugely beneficial in my recovery progress. The Feelings Navigator in particular is really helpful when feeling anything from anxiety to overwhelm to sadness and loneliness (all of which I've experienced during this journey) and provides useful mantras and practical tips to get through these hard moments. The message boards and chat pages make you feel less alone and it's really comforting to be able to share worries and share your own tips in a safe and welcoming space. I can't wait to do one of the courses especially the ones on self love and fear of weight gain. I am really grateful to be part of this community.

The Fear of Weight Gain course changed everything for me. I’ve always known that gaining weight was part of recovery, but the fear was paralysing. I'm 1/2 way through and this course is helping me understand why I was so scared and gave me practical ways to challenge the beliefs keeping me stuck. Julia’s videos make me feel like she's talking directly to me, just like her podcast. For the first time, I feel like full recovery is actually possible — and I’m not terrified of what my body needs anymore

One of the things I love most about the Circle is how people further along in recovery take the time to support others in the chatrooms. It’s so encouraging to see thoughtful, compassionate replies to people’s worries — real advice from those who’ve been through it and truly understand. It creates such a hopeful, supportive space where no one feels alone.

Having an eating disorder is a very lonely and isolating place to be. This community has given me so much support, love and compassion that I truly feel seen and heard. I feel less alone knowing that there are others who struggle just as I am. To have someone there when I reach out is amazing. To feel so supported is everything. The feelings navigator has been extremely helpful to me. Just to help me understand my feelings. The courses and workshops have been so valuable and have really helped me see things I hadn’t before. Thankyou Julia for this amazing community I’m so glad I am part of it.

đź’” Tired of Feeling Alone in Recovery?
Maybe you’ve never had treatment, or maybe you have — but either way, recovery still feels like something you’re expected to figure out alone.
You’re navigating food, fear, and emotions that most people around you just don’t understand.
Whether you’re just beginning, in therapy, or trying to stay on track — it’s easy to feel stuck, isolated, or unsure what to do next.
The truth is, you don’t have to do this by yourself anymore.
💜 That’s Why the Circle Exists
The Eating Disorder Recovery Circle is a private, supportive community built by people who get it. Everyone inside has lived through eating disorders, including all of our team.
No judgement. No comparison. Just recovery support you can actually count on — any time, day or night.
Whether you’re just starting or you’ve tried recovery before, you’ll find practical tools, ongoing encouragement, and the power of connection here.
Meet Julia Trehane
Founder of the Eating Disorder Recovery Circle, specialist anorexia recovery coach & Host of Fly to Freedom podcast
I’m Julia — a fully recovered anorexia survivor, successful eating disorder recovery coach, and the creator of this community.
I’ve poured my years of coaching experience — helping people find freedom from eating disorders — together with decades of lived experience and full recovery from anorexia, orthorexia, and exercise addiction, alongside my network of other fantastic coaches and therapists into creating the Circle.
This is the community I wish I’d had when I was recovering: real support, practical tools, and people who truly understand. I also host the Fly to Freedom podcast to give even more people hope, insight, and a sense that they’re not alone.
I still offer one-to-one coaching for a very limited number of clients, through https://juliatrehane.com/ but this community is how I reach and support more people — without the high financial cost of working with me 1:1.
You don’t have to do this alone. Full recovery is possible — and it’s what you deserve.
